Baby Shower Fun

I am lucky enough to work with some great people who threw an amazing baby shower on Saturday. We had so much fun! There was so much food and we played a lot of fun games. They also gave us some great gifts that we will definitely use. I cannot believe that it is already getting that close to Kenna Beth's arrival! Here are a few pictures from the shower.

Of course, we had to take a belly pic!

Here area few pics of some of the goodies laid in the floor of Kenna's room.

Thanks guys!

Damsel in Distress...again?!?

What is it about me and car trouble? Now that I am pregnant, I just can't seem to get away from it!!

On Friday, everyone at my office went to lunch together at Rockfish to celebrate recent birthdays. Everything was great until I walked out into the parking lot.

I was one of the last ones out because I wanted to make a restroom stop before driving home so most people had already left. But when I got out to the Jeep, the right rear tire was sitting on the rim...

Luckily, Daniel was off work and was actually about fifteen minutes away and came to my rescue very quickly. He had the tire off and the spare on in no time and took it to the tire place to get the large nail removed and patched.

Maybe it is because you are a little more helpless when you are pregnant, but, for real, do you have to run out of gas and have a flat tire within 3 months?

Cravings

Before I got pregnant, I would listen to people talk about what they craved when they were pregnant and think it was just an excuse to get to eat whatever the wanted. I mean, really, is there truly a pregnancy craving?

And then it was my turn.....

For most of the first and second trimester, all I wanted to eat was macaroni and cheese. Not a gourmet kind either....good old Wal-mart brand, boxed, mac and cheese. Daniel does 95% of the cooking in our house (I know....how great is that!) and almost every night he would make macaroni and cheese to go along with whatever else he was cooking. What a sweetie!! Of course, it was his "job" to get me to eat the meat before filling up on cheesy noodles. (If you know my husband, you also know how much of a meat guy he is...apparantly, it is all about the protein). Poor guy, I know he had to have gotten really tired of mac and cheese!!

I am still enjoying it occassionally, but I am not 'craving' it like before. I have moved on to bigger and better things....chocolate milk. This one is probably Dan's fault. We stopped at a gas station a few weeks ago and he was going to run in and grab something to drink while we were filling up. He asked what he could get me and I told him to surprise me. He came back with chocolate milk and the rest is history!! I stopped on the way to church this morning just to buy some chocolate milk to drink on the way....and it has to be the premade kind. Hershey's syrup mixed into milk will just not work.

I am looking forward to seeing what else pops up....I have recently started thinking more about vanilla milkshakes....I haven't given in.....yet!

What did you crave when you were pregnant?

Uncooperative Baby

Daniel and I had a doctor's appointmen and sono yesterday afternoon. As far as the baby goes, she is doing great health wise....Little Miss K just did not want to cooperate with the sono!

Everytime we got a little close to her face, she would move her feet (yes, her feet) to cover herself up and we could not see anything!!

I think we might have one more sono next month, so maybe we can get some cute pictures then....

Fun weekend!

Whew!!
What a fun, busy weekend!!
I left Thursday night to fly home to see my family for the weekend. It was really nice to take an extra day off at work and make it a long weekend...it is amazing how much longer it seems like you get to stay when you have just one extra day!

Daniel left on Thursday to go with 6 other guys on "Guy Trip"....which is a yearly ski trip tradition so I decided to spend the time with my fam. The timing worked out really well because today was my Dad's birthday and my sister's baby shower.

I spent most of the weekend either hanging out at my parents in Muleshoe or my sister's house in Lubbock. It was also homecoming weekend at LCU, which is where my sister and a lot of other cousins went to school, so we spent some time at their activities as well.

Today was a fast, busy day.....Church, lunch for Dad's b-day, Amy's shower, and then a plane ride home....

So much fun seeing all of the family though!! Due to doctor induced travel restrictions for both of us, this will probably be the last time Amy and I see each other before our little girls get here!

Here are some pics from today....

My grandmothers at the shower (yes, they are wearing the same jacket...see if I ever buy them the same thing for Christmas again...who would've thought the would wear them on the same day...)

First piece of mail?

My unborn daughter received her first piece of mail the other day...she has officially been invited to my sister's baby shower next weekend.

I had to laugh out loud when I saw the invitation addressed to Heather and Kenna B.

And, of course, my sister is quite proud of the fact that she remembered to put Kenna's name on the invitation list.

This invitation will definitely have to go in the baby book....:)
