After Kenna's bath tonight, I was letting her play with the plastic cups in one of the kitchen cabinets while I tidied up the kitchen. I heard her asking for water and when I turned around to hand her a sippy cup full of water, this is what I found....

Kenna's new fav
Just had to start out with a cute picture of my little princess....she is getting so big and just loves to smile for the camera these days. Of course, she also thinks that the closer she is to the camera, the better. That definitely makes for some interesting pictures!
Kenna's newest favorite toy was something she found on Daddy's desk the other day. Once she saw the calculator, she instantly claimed it as her own. For three full days now she has walked around with her calculator while she "cal coo waits." Apparently she has been doing some heavy-duty math work! (She has watched her friend Abby - Cindy's daughter - who loves to play with a calculator - we guess that is where she picked it up!)

Last night, as Daniel was putting her to bed, she kept saying "moor calcoowait moor calcoowait". He finally had to put her down with the promise that she could play again in the morning.

Puerto Vallarta
Daniel and I just returned from spending 5 glorious day in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We had such an amazing time! Puerto Vallarta is on the Pacific side of Mexico and is surrounded by rain forest and mountains. It was really neat to get to see the forest, mountains, and beach all at the same time. We stayed at the Dreams Puerto Vallarta and this was the view from our room. Gorgeous! The tower of the hotel that you can see in the picture had recently been remodeled and most of the pictures on the website are from that tower (complete with hot tubs on each balcony). We did not stay in that tower, but we loved our room all the same...it was great.

We spent 90% of our time sitting in the beach chairs under one of those little huts you can see in the pictures. There was plenty of room for 2-3 chairs and we just sat and read/relaxed/talked. It rains almost everyday in August in PV, but it would only rain for an hour or so in the late afternoon. Several times we just stayed in our chairs and watched it rain from under our little roof.

We did make a trip into town one morning. The Malecon is a popular boardwalk/beach because of its life size sand sculptures.

One of the tours that we did take was the Outdoor Adventure by Vallarta Adventures. The tour includes a ride up the mountain in a Unimog (picture below....a little interesting) before going the rest of the way up the mountain on a mule. Daniel's mule was named Diablo...had me worried for just a little while until I saw how tame they really were. After arriving at the top, you work your way back down by a series of ziplines and rappelling. We were speeding above the trees, sometimes into pools in the river, and rappelling down waterfalls....it was amazing!! You were not allowed to take your camera on the tour because of the water involved, so we just have a few shots from before we really got started.

And that is all the pictures that we took....I know...we didn't do too great of a job in that department, but we were too busy just hanging out! Probably one of the best vacations ever!!
Kenna got to spend the time with her Grandpa and Grandma Boyd, Mercy, Solomon, and several of her other uncles. She seemed to have a blast and even got to spend some time with JD! Thanks everybody for helping keep our little girl entertained....Mommy and Daddy sure did miss her!!

New Sippy Cup?
Kenna really, really wants to drink out of a real cup. We keep several Tupperware-type glasses in one of the bottom cabinets and she plays and plays with those cups. She feels very special when Daddy puts just a little bit of water in the bottom so that she can take a real drink.
Tonight, I fixed her bedtime cup of milk (in a sippy cup) and then went to put her dirty clothes in the hamper. Apparently she decided that she needed to still drink out of the real cups - even if the liquid was in her sippy cup.

She was not happy when I tried to take her make-shift cups apart and chugged her milk as long as she had her 'big cup'...hey, whatever works!

Wiggles Concert
Saturday night, Mandy and I took our kids down to Nokia in Grand Prairie to see the Wiggles. The boys were having a "guy night" at my house so we were looking for something fun to do with Kenna and JD. JD really likes the Wiggles and Kenna really likes music so we thought it would be fun to see the Wiggles in person. JD was excited about seeing the "big Wiggles in their house."

We only decided to go earlier in the week, so we were up in the balcony, but it ended up working out really well. We could spread out on our row and the kids just danced and danced. They were so much fun to watch!!

Dancing Kenna
For the last few weeks, Kenna has been practicing her dance moves anytime she hears music. If she is not dancing, then she is clapping. Her dancing typically consists of stomping her feet while she "sings" along. Tonight, Daniel and I were watching the finale of So You Think You Can Dance (a great show by the way) when Kenna decided to show off her moves. Apparently she has picked up a few new things along the way!!
After she had been "dancing" a while, she started getting really dizzy and couldn't stand up straight. We laughed and laughed at all of her "whoas" as she was stumbling around the living room...we live with such a funny little girl!!

Rangers, Shopping, and Swimming
For the third year in a row, we had a 'family reunion' Crenshaw style at our house. We have made it a tradition to celebrate my Gran's birthday with a family trip to Dallas (aunts, cousins, etc.) and we always have a blast!
We started the weekend with a trip to the Ranger's game Thursday night. The Rangers won and we had a blast! Abbye particularly loved to eat some of her Momma's Lemon Chill. Once Amy decided to share, Abbye didn't want to give it back!
She was also pretty excited to see the fireworks!! The Rangers hit several home runs throughout the evening and both Abbye and Kenna were very impressed with the fireworks. (I stole this pic off of Leslye's blog...check out her blog for more fun from the weekend.)
It was free hat night at the ballpark so the girl cousins had to take a group shot with our hats...aren't we cute!
I thought this was a good picture of Charlie and Amy enjoying the game.

The rest of the weekend was spent with a little shopping, a little swimming, and a LOT of playing with Kenna and Abbye. One of the groups made a trip to IKEA and came back with a little igloo tent for the girls to play with. Kenna wasn't too sure about it to start with so most of the pictures are of Abbye inside. Kenna wanted to walk straight into and straight out without having to bend over or duck. It would make her really made when her head would hit the top of the door so she would just stay out. By the end of the weekend she had it figured out though. I think some of the adults enjoyed it more than the kids! :)
