April Fool's Baby

Abigail Cate Turner has arrived!!

(Sorry about the bare bottom, but I had to show you the hair!)

Abbye weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and was 22 inches long when she made her first appearance at 6:15 this evening. Amy and Abbye are both doing great! (Her actual due date was tomorrow so she is right on time!) I can't believe my sister is a mommy.....

My sister and I promised each other yesterday that we would not pull any April Fool's day labor jokes so I was a little surprised when Amy called me around 1:15 and said that they were headed to the hospital. Things sure progressed quickly from there! I am sure that my parents are taking tons of pictures since they are now, officially, grandparents. They are going from 0 to 2 in a two week span! I love the pout in the first picture and look at all that hair!

I can't wait for our turn to meet her!!!!!!!

Kenna will be here soon!

I am getting so excited! I can't wait to meet our daughter....

There are so many things that I wonder about....what will she look like...what will she act like...will she be more like Daniel or more like me? So many questions! I just can't wait...

She has apparently decided that she is content where she is and does not want to move (she is still breech). The doctor told us on Friday that she would probably need her own GPS unit to find her way out if he left it up to her. If she continues to be a little on the stubborn side (Dan said that she gets that from me....personally, I don't know what he is talking about :) then we will probably have her sometime around the 11th. That is only 12 days away! Of course, she is fairly easy to take care of right now...I always now where she is and what she is doing!!

The countdown has officially begun!!

RE Baby Shower

I can't believe I have not already posted about this!! Two weeks ago, some women from RE threw us a wonderful shower! We had so much fun and I was so glad that all of our families were involved. They definitely got us much more prepared for Kenna's arrival.

My Mom, me, and Daniel's MomThe lovely table...they did such a good job! Becky made a beautiful cake...and it was REALLY good.
I loved the clothesline full of baby clothes.
My cousin Courtney, Dan's sister Mercy, and my aunt Andra.
I was really glad that both of my grandmothers were able to come....so special!
We got lots of cute pink clothes!! I can't wait to dress Kenna.
The wonderful ladies who threw the shower....THANKS!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who came. I know that we were the fourth baby shower in a row (so many new kiddos!!) but we really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Baby Update

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and Kenna sure is growing!! The sono tech said she weighed about 5.5 lbs at this point (of course they are never exactly right, but....) and they usually grow about 1/2 lb a week towards the end. So glad we have a healthy, growing girl!!

Of course, she has decided that she is perfectly content right where she is.....with her head up by my ribs and her toes right by her mouth....I guess she is still sucking away like she was at our 20 week sono. Right now we are still waiting to see if she will turn but the Dr said he was a "little leery" that she would actually go all the way around. He said we will check again in two weeks to see if she is still breech and then decide what to do from there....

We had an assembly filled evening last night and Daniel put together the stroller, the swing, and all that fun stuff. Our house is definitely starting to look like we are ready for a baby!! Only a few more weeks!!

Nursery pictures

I have been slacking on posting pictures of Miss Kenna Beth's nursery...sorry! I have promised several people that I would soon get them up, so here they are!

This is a picture of the bedding when it first arrived...the green is actually a little more pastel than it looks in the picture...you can see the color better on the walls

Daniel painted, put up a chair rail, and cut "dots" out of wood that we used to decorate the walls...what a lot of work!!

This is a close up picture of the baby bed with the bedding (the green and pink dots kinda have a funny color in the picture)

And, finally, here are pictures of the crib, bookshelf, and her name...we are going to add more pictures (most likely of her) to the walls once she gets here

We love the whole nursery and cannot wait until Kenna arrives!

Sent Home

We have officially been sent home from work....

Right after we finished seeing patients this morning, the office manager decided that it was just a little too dangerous for all of us to hang out until 5 tonight before heading home. Most patients were calling and canceling or were not showing up at all and we did not think that it would get any better as the afternoon progressed.

I am totally okay with that!! Of course, it did take me 2-3X as long to get home as it usually does.

So now I am at home, safe, sound, and warm. Kinda nice to have a random snow day in the middle of the week. Too bad Dan is at work today.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring....

Let it snow?

It is snowing outside...it is March 3rd....what is wrong with this picture!!

I can't believe that it was 75 degrees yesterday and now there is snow on the ground....this is crazy!!
