Eventful Evening

Daniel and I had quite the eventful evening last night...

I got home from work around 6 and helped clean up a little while he was finishing hanging the last of the blinds. (They look so good!!) About the time he finished, his pager went off. The message said that there was an apartment complex on fire and they needed everyone to come back in...He was gone for three hours and I just did stuff around the house.

He called me about 10 and said that he was headed home. Then he called me at 10:30 and told me that he was stuck on the side of the road near the highway intersection closest to our house. He had veered too sharply into the turn lane and hit the curb with the tires on the car....three of them. Two of the tires (and rims) were completely busted and one of the back tires was still holding air but was on a bent rim....great!! :( We only had one doughnut in the trunk (and he said the jeep tires would not fit) so we replaced the worst of the tires up front with the doughnut. The other front tire had a bent rim but we thought the tire would be okay....wrong! Upon further examination, the tire had a large crack in the side wall. We were only five miles or so from our house so we decided to just drive home on the rim - the tire and the rim were already both ruined. It took us a while but we made it safely home - at 12:30 am! (I am so not a night person!!!)

I took him back to work this morning before I went to work and he is going to have a friend bring him home. Then we get to go buy new rims and tires!! Thank goodness he was not seriously hurt!!

(That was the abbreviated version - I can add more details if you would like!! :)

Furniture shopping sounds much more fun....I am glad that he is okay and that everything is repairable.

So glad that Daniel was not hurt. Tires can be replaced much easier than life or limb! Glad God's protection was surrounding him!

I am glad that Daniel is okay! How scary to think of what could have happened, but praise the Lord that it did not!

Hey, at least you got your blinds hung though before all of this happened:)

Silly boys! Tell him to slow down next time. :-p

My brother's girlfriend picked us up from the airport on Monday. She called us 10 minutes after she dropped us off, and another vehicle had forced her into the curb! She needed us to come and help her change her tire, but her rim was all busted too. What's with blown tires this week?

Very glad no one was hurt. Car trouble typically happens late at night. Last year at 11pm, two vehicles were needed to rescue John & his brother - one for the Bronco, one for the boat. Plus the trailer for the Bronco got a flat. Fun times.
