Storm Damage

Wow - that was some storm last night! We were on the northern edge of the storm so things south of us were probably a lot worse, but we definitely have some clean up to do. Kenna just kept looking out the window at all of the wind, rain, and lightening and commented frequently with one of her favorite words "whoa." The only part of the fence on our northern side that is still standing is the part that Daniel and my Dad spent some time reinforcing a few months ago. That part had started to pull away from the posts so they screwed it all back in....not thinking that they should do the rest of the fence to keep it from falling down in a freak windstorm! After the wind and rain died down a little bit, Daniel had to go looking for the lid to the sandbox. Crabbie's lid had blown two streets over and was still going. We have several empty lots in our area and the wind was just whipping through the wind tunnels they created....taking our fence, sandbox lid, and other furniture with it! We also have a tree (the one in the front part of the back yard) that may not make it....it was sideways for a fairly long time...Daniel staked it back into the ground so we will see what happens next.

I am just glad that Daniel was home! Anybody want to have a fence-raising party? :)

Wow! You guys definitely had it worse than we did! We lost the rooster on the top of JD's house, but other than that, things seem to be okay.

No fence raising at my apartment in Denton but part of the parking lot was flooded. We saw a SUV across the lot with water half way up its tires. Good thing I didn't live on that side or my car would have been toast. Winds were up to 80 mph over here and my roommates brother was on the road. He had to stop because his car was being moved by the wind!

Goodness...you got all the damage we thought we'd get. By the looks of things last night, we figured we'd have at least some damage; there are some trees down on our street but none of them are ours. What a storm, huh?

Oh stink!!!
One of my friends had a tree fall on her car!
Glad everyone is safe!
Jailyn and Jorja were a "little" freaked out when all of us were in the bathroom! :)

Aww. I wanted some damage, but we didn't get any. I have a horrible pecan tree on our back driveway that I'm begging to have a storm knock down. I really thought this might have been the one too.
