Abbye's Birthday Party

The kids and I took off to Muleshoe/Lubbock this weekend to help celebrate the 3rd birthday of sweet Abbye Cate. Daniel is back to his 24/48 schedule so he had to stay home without us (I'm sure he was very sad! ) We made a road trip this time...and it wasn't too bad! For whatever reason, BOTH of my kids missed getting the "always able to sleep in the car gene" so that can make long car trips a little interesting. In the almost 6 hours it took us to get to Lubbock on Friday afternoon Dane slept 30 min and Kenna never closed her eyes. Yep, means lots of entertaining from Mom! We met the birthday girl and all of the family at Chuck E. Cheese for a little celebrating and playtime. It definitely was a nice break after a long time in the car. Dane got to have his first taste of pizza, and in true Dane fashion, L.O.V.E.D it! I love this picture...."I may only have 5 teeth, but I am not afraid to use them!" The girls enjoyed their pizza as well, but they were much more interested in the cupcakes sitting right in front of them.
Finally cupcake time! And, of course, you know they had to pick blue!

Time for a trip to the bathroom to visit the sink!
Saturday morning, Kenna spent a little time helping Poppy sweep up the garage.
She was a great helper!!
Abbye's birthday party was a bike/scooter/jump house party in the gym of their church building. Kenna had fun trying out Abbye's tricycle.
Dane had his own toy to play with and led his great-grandpa on several circles around the room.
Mommy and Kenna got to try out the bounce house together before the other guests arrived....fun, fun!
Cute Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake!
Dane really wanted to join in on the fun in the bounce house!
He also convinced Aunt Kyla that he needed a turn on the tricycle. (He wasn't really riding - I just snapped a quick picture - he isn't that big yet!!)
Abbye getting ready to blow out her candles - sorry, best picture I could get of the birthday girl.
Dane finally got his chance in the bounce house! He thought it was so much fun!

We split the return trip up by spending the night with my grandmother on Saturday night before heading home on Sunday. We had a lot of fun and can't wait to have a party of our own this weekend to celebrate with Kenna and JD!
